Amon Amarth Praise Seamless Production on 'The Allfather Awakens'

Amon Amath have confirmed that the production of their upcoming album, "The Allfather Awakens", proved to be an exceptionally smooth process. The band, which will see the new record land on October 2 via Metal Blade Records, collaborated with Danish producer Jacob Hansen for the first time on this latest offering.

Vocals' Johan Hegg and bassist Ted Lundström detailed the ease of working with Hansen, noting the producer was open to their ideas while contributing unique touches to the overall production. Despite the pressures of a massive touring schedule for their previous record, the band entered the studio with a significant head start. Because guitarists Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg began riffing and exchanging ideas while on the road, the transition into the studio phase was seamless.

While the record is not a traditional concept album, it remains deeply rooted in Norse mythology. Hegg explained that the tracks revolve around the all-father Oden, weaving together historical motifs and the god's mythical attributes. The inspiration for this direction stems from a lifelong fascination with Viking history and culture, a passion shared by the band members since their inception in the early 90s. They intentionally carved out their niche in the Stockholm scene by weaving these pagan themes into their signature sound.
