STAIND frontman Aaron Lewis has offered a glimpse into the sonic landscape of the band's upcoming album, "The Space Between The Darkness And The Light". In a recent sit-down with "Whiplash", Lewis described the forthcoming project—and its lead single, "Ghosts"—as a "pretty heavy, driving record." Despite the band currently touring in support of the 25th anniversary of "Break The Cycle", Lewis insisted that the timeline of the tour did not dictate the songwriting, noting that the new material was completed well before the anniversary celebrations began.

"It's still the same struggle," Lewis explained, noting that the band's output acts as a diary of his personal journey. The title, "The Space Between The Darkness And The Light", is described by the frontman as a fitting progression from their previous work. While he isn't intentionally seeking heavier territory, he admits there are moments on the new record where listeners might suspect that was the case.

The common thread is it's still the same struggle.

"Ghosts" marks the first new material from the quartet since 2023's "Confessions Of The Fallen". Produced by Erik Ron, the track showcases the signature sound of the unit—Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, Johnny April, and Sal Giancarelli—blending heavy elements with a melodic core. The band remains a powerhouse in the scene, recently bolstered by a TikTok resurgence of their hit "Warm Safe Place", which pushed the track past one billion streams.
