Adam Dutkiewicz Claims Next BURN Eternal Album Is Already in the Works
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz reveals he has plenty of material lined up for a follow-up to the debut BURN ETERNAL record.
Adam Dutkiewicz has confirmed that the creative well is deep for his collaboration with former KILLSWITCH ENGAGE vocalist Howard Jones. In a recent interview with Metal On Tap, the guitarist revealed that while the debut self-titled album from BURN ETERNAL is slated for a February 2027 release on Metal Blade, the material for a successor is already sitting in the wings.
"It's old news to me [at this point]. This record's been done for, like, four years. There were a lot of hang-ups with this one," Dutkiewicz explained. He noted that the delay in getting the first album to fans has been frustrating, but expressed excitement about the continued partnership with Jones. "I'm glad I'm still working on material with Howard, 'cause I just love working with Howard. Howard's such a great friend. Making music with your friends is a good time."
I've already got enough material for another record, too.
The project finds the two veterans of the New England metal scene refining a familiar chemistry in a fresh context. The debut LP features tracks like "Wounds I've Made" and "No Escape," with multiple vinyl variations scheduled for release. While the debut reflects on songs Dutkiewicz penned during the pandemic, the next chapter will involve the pair working closely together as soon as Jones completes the lyrical components.
