President Unleashes 'Dark Heaven' Video, Announces Debut Album & Sold-Out Tour
Mysterious masked band PRESIDENT has dropped a visualizer for their new song 'Dark Heaven', alongside news of their debut album and a completely sold-out US tour.
The enigmatic collective known as PRESIDENT, currently shrouded in rumour about a certain ex-pop-punk frontman, have dropped a visualizer for their track 'Dark Heaven', and announced the imminent arrival of their debut album, "Blood Of Your Empire". The record will land via Atlantic Records on September 4. Following a string of increasingly intriguing singles, the band's identity remains largely obscured, though speculation continues to swirl about connections to Charlie Simpson – formerly of BUSTED and FIGHTSTAR.
The visualizer for 'Dark Heaven' captures the raw reactions of fans experiencing the track for the first time within a church setting. The song itself is described by PRESIDENT as "a reflection on the contradictions of faith, and how something intended to unite humanity has so often been used to justify division…". They add that it's "about searching for something real beneath the noise."
A magnetic anthem from alternative metal’s incumbent supreme leader.
The band's debut album, "Blood Of Your Empire", reportedly stems from a personal exploration of existential crisis and belief. PRESIDENT explains that the album attempts to reconcile religion's capacity for both immense compassion and unimaginable suffering. The artwork is no less intriguing: a direct lift from Eugène Delacroix's iconic painting "The Battle Of Poitiers", currently residing in the Louvre.
The band's live shows have been steadily building hype, and now PRESIDENT are embarking on their first full US tour, kicking off September 4 at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville. The entire run is already sold out – a testament to the fervent curiosity surrounding this masked collective. Support will come from CENOBIA and SHOWING TEETH for select dates across the continent.
