Currents Sign With Rise Records For Upcoming Album 'Our Fates Lie In Tandem'
CURRENTS join the Rise Records roster as they prepare to drop their most personal and personal full-length in four years.
CURRENTS are making a major move into the Rise Records camp, marking a new era for the band as they prepare to release their fourth full-length album, "Our Fates Lie In Tandem", on February 12. The upcoming record serves as their first full-length collection in nearly four years and represents their most personal body of work to date.
Vocallist Brian Wille describes the 11-song offering as a blend of social commentary and heartbreak. "I brought the wall down, so I could be more personal than ever before," Wille explains. He further notes that the heavy elements are intentional rather than performative: "We agreed a track doesn't need to be 'a walking breakdown' in order to make an impact. So, you're getting the lows, the highs, and everything in between."
I brought the wall down, so I could be more personal than ever before.
The band recently premiered "Retributioner", a track exploring the erosion of principles in a success-driven world. "Retributioner" serves as a critique of a winner-take-all ethos, aiming to dismantle the systems that demand individuals discard their values to get ahead. The track highlights the sonic range of the upcoming LP, which was produced by guitarist Chris Wiseman with input from Ricky Armellino and mixing by Jon Dolese.
The band highlighted the significance of their new label, stating that the legacy of Rise is unmatched. The creation of "Our Fates Lie In Tandem" involved a multi-year process to ensure the songs are the most cohesive of their career. The record will be available on several formats, including a range of limited-edition vinyl variants.
