Breaking IN A Sequence Releases 'Don't Run' Single From Upcoming 'Inanimate' Album

California-based melodic alternative metal outfit BREAKING IN A SEQUENCE are back, and they're bringing the thunder. The band has just dropped "Don't Run", a ferocious new single ripped from their forthcoming album *Inanimate*, arriving later this year via TLG|ZOID and distributed by Virgin Music Group.

The track follows up on earlier release "Meant To Be" and serves as an early indication of the sonic direction BIAS are taking. According to the band, "Don't Run" was the first song penned with new drummer BC Vaught, who joined after a period of inactivity following the departure of David Silveria. They describe it as a throwback to the early 2000s nu-metal scene, blending melody and aggression in what they claim is a refreshingly raw package.

Production duties were handled by Chris Collier alongside the band members themselves, with Collier also responsible for mixing and mastering. The arrival of Vaught clearly marks a significant shift for BREAKING IN A SEQUENCE, who formed in late 2018 from the ashes of KORN, initially featuring David Silveria alongside Joe Taback, Chris Dorame and vocalist Richard Nguyen.

The band's frontman, Nguyen, recently spoke about the possibility of disbanding after Silveria's departure. He confessed to being ready to call it quits until they managed to recruit BC Vaught – a feat that involved weeks of persistent persuasion. It seems his faith wasn't misplaced; Vaught, previously known for his work with HED P.E. and BREAKING BENJAMIN, has injected new life into the project.

The band's debut EP, *Acronym*, dropped in January 2021, but "Don't Run" feels like a significant step forward, promising an album that could well reignite interest in this intriguing blend of melodic metal and nu-metal nostalgia. With Vaught behind the kit and Collier at the helm, BREAKING IN A SEQUENCE are poised to deliver something special – whether it's as good as their claims remains to be seen, but initial signs are certainly promising.
