AS I LAY Dying Return with Self-Titled LP and New Dual Singles
Metalcore veterans AS I LAY DYING have announced their upcoming self-titled album via Napalm Records, debuting 'Polarized' and 'Retribution'.
Metalcore heavyweights AS I LAY DYING have confirmed that their next studio offering will be a self-titled album, arriving on February 5, 2027, via Napalm Records. To kick things off, the band has released two contrasting singles, "Polarized" and "Retribution", which serve as a sonic compass for the record's diverse landscape. "Polarized" offers a more melodic, accessible approach with driving structures, while "Retribution" pivots toward a darker, faster, and more aggressive aesthetic.
By opting for a self-titled release, the band aims to frame the record as both a continuation and a reset. They have explained that the goal was to avoid being pinned to a specific era of their career, instead fusing the elements they naturally gravitate toward: melody, aggression, speed, and atmosphere. The band noted that while the two singles represent opposite ends of the spectrum, the bulk of the album occupies the middle ground between these two distinct poles.
We weren't trying to recreate one era of the band or force the songs into a narrow definition.
Produced by the band's own Chris Clancy and Tim Lambesis, the album features a ten-track list including "Satellites" and "Echoes". Lyrically, the record explores themes of transformation and personal growth, with "If I Fall" and "Echoes" tackling heavier subjects like abandonment and escaping destructive bonds. The new material is slated for their upcoming North American tour dates in February. Both "Polarized" and "Retribution" are also available as a physical vinyl single.
