Whiplash Drop 'Bullet Train' Ahead of New Album 'Roar'

New Jersey thrash metal stalwarts WHIPLASH have issued the first taste of their upcoming album, "Roar", with the release of the single "Bullet Train". Set for a worldwide release on November 27, 2026, via Time To Kill Records, the track showcases the heavy, riff-driven assault that has defined the band's four-decade career.

Frontman and guitarist Tony Portaro describes "Bullet Train" as a high-octane anthem for the speed freaks. "It's about that headlong rush of living life at 200 mph; the addiction to speed, chaos and the constant chase that has always been part of the heavy metal lifestyle," Portaro explains, noting that the track is packed with horsepower and adrenaline. The track serves as a precursor to the ten-song collection, which includes high-velocity heaters such as "Sonic Asylum" and "Who Stole My Whiskey".

It's all horsepower and adrenaline: breakneck speed, faster than a jet stream. This is metal with no brakes.

While the album was previously circulated in a limited capacity as "Thrashquake" during a tour with Napalm Death, the partnership with Time To Kill Records brings the definitive version to the masses. This official iteration features a new title, fresh artwork from legendary illustrator Ed Repka, and a full global campaign. Recorded at Studio Mozart and Concrete Island Studio, "Roar" aims to provide uncompromising metal built for the mosh pit rather than any digital algorithm, capturing the raw energy of Portaro's evolving craft.
