Dave Rimmer Steps In As Ian Hill Sidelined For Judas Priest's London Finale

Judas Priest limped towards the conclusion of their 2026 "Faithkeepers" European tour with a last-minute substitution on the low end. Founding bassist Ian Hill was forced to sit out the final London date at the Eventim Apollo on Monday, 21 September, after suffering a "badly damaged tendon in his left arm."

Filling the void left by the veteran bassist was Dave Rimmer of Uriah Heap. Rimmer, who also performs with Richie Faulkner in Elegant Weapons, stepped in to ensure the final show of the tour proceeded as planned. The band issued a statement on social media ahead of the gig, noting that Hill "sends his grateful appreciation to our fans for your caring and understanding."

Ian has a badly damaged tendon in his left arm so unfortunately he won't be able to play at our Hammersmith Apollo Eventim show.

Despite the injury, the 74-year-old Hill remains no closer to hanging up his boots. He previously told Spanish media that the band has "no plan to retire yet" and only intends to step back when their live performances begin to decline. While Hill's stint on stage was interrupted this week, the band is not expected back on stage until June 2027 at the Tons Of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway.
