Nergal Joins Misþyrming for Special 'Sventevith' Performance at Helsinki Metal Festival

Adam "Nergal" Darski has teamed up with Icelandic black metal stalwarts Misþyrming for a unique 2026 live project. The duo performed Behemoth's 1995 debut album, "Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic)", in its entirety as a full conceptual work to commemorate the record's 30th anniversary. The performance took place on August 8 at the Hellsinki Metal Festival in Finland.

While Behemoth continues to evolve—most recently releasing "The Shit Ov God" via Nuclear Blast Records in May 2025—this collaboration looks back at their early black metal roots. The debut, released three decades ago, established Darski's signature blend of blistering speed and occult themes before the band eventually integrated death metal influences into their sound.

Production on the newer material saw Nergal collaborating with Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, while the visual aesthetic remained consistent through partnerships with Bartek Rogalewicz and Dark Sigil Workshop. This latest live venture with Misþyrming provides a rare opportunity to experience the foundational era of the Polish extreme metal veterans in a complete, uninterrupted set.
