Extol Drop 'Disintegrate' Ahead of New Full-Length

Norwegian experimental death metal collective EXTOL have unleashed a fresh sonic assault with the release of their new single, "Disintegrate". The track serves as a primary building block for the band's upcoming LP, "Aura Of Decay", which is slated for a November 6 release via Solid State Records. This marks a significant milestone for the outfit, as it is their first full-length effort since the critically acclaimed 2013 self-titled record.

"Disintegrate" leans into the heavier side of the EXTOL spectrum, blending their signature cocktail of vocal harmonies and memorable melodies with a brutalist, contradictory sonic palette. The lyrics offer a sobering look at the harrowing reality of dementia, exploring the surreal journey of families watching a loved one's cognitive and physical functions slowly decline.

The new LP marks EXTOL's first album since the band's critically acclaimed 2013 self-titled release.

Returning to the fold is guitarist Christer Espevoll, completing the classic lineup for the upcoming record. The production process was no small feat; the album was meticulously crafted across Hawk Studios, Little Cave Studio, and Hrada Creative, before being handed to mastering engineer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. For the visuals, the band enlisted renowned artist Hugh Syme to create the artwork.

Fans will find a deliberate nod to the band's roots in the new material, with atmospheric echoes of their seminal work, "Burial", weaving through the arrangements. While "Disintegrate" takes centre stage now, the previous month's single, "The One And The Many", already hinted at the philosophical depth of the upcoming collection.
