Burton C. Bell Nears Completion of Debut Solo LP

Former Fear Factory frontman Burton C. Bell is currently in Los Angeles putting the final touches on his debut solo album. In an interview with Rock Talks, Bell confirmed the project features 11 tracks in total, with the majority being entirely new material. While the track "Savages" might appear as a bonus, he clarified that the other singles released over the last three years—"Anti-Droid", "Technical Exorcism", and his cover of Rammsstein's "Du Hast"—will not be included on the main LP.

Bell's ambition for the record is to move away from specific genre labels, aiming instead to encapsulate his entire career. Having fronted acts such as G/Z/R, Ascension of the Watchers, and City of Fire, as well as guesting for Ministry, Bell intends to weave these disparate influences into a cohesive, heavy, and moody sonic tapestry. He insists the goal isn't to replicate his previous bands, but to create a sound that is unmistakably his own.

I'm taking all my favourite parts of all these bands and creating a whole new sound.

With only a couple of songs left to finish, Bell is preparing to shop the record to labels for distribution and potential touring support. While he is currently keeping the identity of potential special guests under wraps, he did confirm that several old friends have been suggested for the project. This solo push follows his recent spoken-word show, "Obsolete By Word Of Mouth", celebrating the 30th anniversary of Fear Factory's landmark release.
