Slipknot were reported to be nearing a catalogue transaction with HarbourView Equity Partners valued at approximately $120 million. The proposed agreement concerned royalty interests connected to the band’s existing publishing and master recordings rather than future releases.

Industry estimates suggested Slipknot’s recordings had generated around $15.5 million in annual revenue over the previous three years, with publishing contributing a further $5.2 million. Those figures helped establish the reported valuation of the archival catalogue.

The proposed agreement covered existing publishing and master royalties while excluding future Slipknot releases.

It remained unclear at the time whether every current and former member would participate. Slipknot were expected to retain ownership of their publishing, while the master recordings themselves remained controlled by Warner Music Group through its ownership of Roadrunner Records. The deal therefore focused on income streams rather than transferring all underlying copyrights.

Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1999, Slipknot have become one of the largest metal bands of their generation. Their catalogue includes the multi-platinum “Iowa”, six Billboard 200 Top 10 albums and billions of global streams. Latest album “The End, So Far” reached number two in the United States and topped charts in several other countries.

HarbourView launched in 2021 and rapidly accumulated music catalogues across multiple genres, using long-term streaming and licensing income as the basis for its investments. The Slipknot discussions represented one of its largest reported heavy-music transactions.
