Saxon Set to Bring Back Iconic Eagle for European Tour
British metal titans SAXON confirm European dates for the 'Gods Of Thunder' tour, including the return of their legendary 30-foot metal eagle.
British heavy metal stalwarts SAXON have confirmed the European leg of the "Gods Of Thunder" world tour, scheduled for March 2027. The announcement brings a significant piece of heavy metal history back into the spotlight: the revival of the band's massive, 30-foot mechanized Eagle. This towering prop, originally constructed in the early 1980s for the "Denim And Leather" era, will reappear for fans attending shows in Brussels, Zurich, Cologne, and Tilburg.
Constructed by Midlands-based company LSD using airport runway landing lights, the eagle remains a staple of the band's visual identity. Frontman Biff Byford expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming trek, stating, "We're bringing the 'Gods Of Thunder' tour across to Europe. It's gonna be awesome! Can't wait to open the heavens and bring on the metal."

Tour dates span across Europe from March 1st in Brussels to March 24th in Tilburg. Tickets for the Italian dates go on sale Tuesday, October 27, with Zurich following on Wednesday, October 28. The remaining dates, including Oslo, will see tickets available from Friday, October 30.
The tour serves as a massive promotional vehicle for the new album "Gods Of Thunder", which hits shelves on January 22, 2027. Produced by Byford and mixed by the veteran Andy Sneap, the record features the classic twin-guitar attack of Scarratt and Tatler alongside the powerhouse rhythm section of Glocker and Carter. The tracklist, including the NWOBHM-inspired "Remember The Alamo" and the Cold War-themed "MI5", is set to be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
