Satanic Planet Feature Dave Lombardo on Upcoming Album 'Dead Deities'

SATANIC PLANET have premiered the music video for their latest single, "Church Burning", ahead of the October 30 release of their new LP, "Dead Deities", via Relapse Records. The track serves as a scathing critique of religious violence, with co-founder Lucien Greaves explaining that the song focuses on the hypocrisy of those who attack The Satanic Temple. "It is their own church they burn," Greaves notes regarding the history of arson and threats faced by the organisation.

_Dead Deities_ showcases a formidable lineup including Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Misfits), Justin Pearson (The Locust), and Luke Henshaw (Planet B). The record is described as a pitch-black, surly call-to-arms against autocracy and Christian nationalism. The sonic palette features heavy drumming, blackened synths, and diabolical noise interludes, resulting in what the band calls a sound of "pure sunless devastation."

This is a song about the hypocrisy of religious violence and how our opposition destroy their own ethical credibility.

The album also features "Sam Alito's Mom", a direct and aggressive nod to the Supreme Court Justice. The track serves as a musical representation of the ongoing fight to protect reproductive rights. Greaves confirms the track is a response to the legal and social battles against theocratic restrictions on bodily autonomy. The full eleven-track release is slated for the end of October.
