Greta Van Fleet Drop 'Tear It Down' Ahead of New Album

Grammy Award-winning rockers Greta Van Fleet have issued a new single, "Tear It Down", available now via Republic Records. The track serves as the third offering from the band's upcoming studio album, "Palace For The People", which is slated for release on 9 October.

Following the path of "Play Your Games" and "Saw You Stand", "Tear It Down" blends a heavy riff with introspective lyricism. During the verses, Josh Kiszka explores searching for answers amidst "shifting clouds", before the chorus explodes with the defiant mantra: "Build it up, then you tear it down."

As much as it is a Greta Van Fleet record and a rock and roll record at its core, in its heart, it's a very modern record.

Produced alongside Mike Elizondo and recorded in Tennessee in the spring of 2026, the upcoming record is intended to showcase a "vibrant, cohesive and stronger" version of the unit. Lead guitarist Jake Kiszka notes that while the project is fundamentally rock and roll, it possesses a "very modern" core.

The album title was inspired by the history of London's Alexandra Palace, a Victorian-era venue originally known as "The Palace of the People". The band aims to reflect the site's legacy as a gathering place for the public. Bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka suggests that the music itself has become their "palace", a sentiment born from the connection they forge with fans globally.
