Swedish Metal Stalwarts WOLF Debut 'Death Satellite' Ahead of New LP
WOLF offer a shot of pure, man-made metal in their new 'Death Satellite' single and upcoming album 'Hour Of The Wolf'.
Swedish traditional metal veterans WOLF have unveiled the music video for "Death Satellite", the lead single from their upcoming tenth studio album, "Hour Of The Wolf". Set for release on 20 November 2026 via Fireflash Records, the track is described by vocalist and guitarist Niklas Stålvind as a "straight-up banger" that encapsulates the band's signature sound.
Formed in 1995, WOLF are considered pioneers of the traditional heavy metal revival. They have steadfastly avoided modern trends, sticking to a vision of heavy metal that dates back to the 70s and 80s. Stålvind notes that "Death Satellite" was crafted as a sonic antidote to the era of "A.I. overlords," providing "old-school, manmade metal" for the sake of good times and headbanging.
Our goal was to create an album that you would want to listen to from start to finish and then play again.
Artistic integrity is at the forefront of the new release. The album features eye-catching oil paintings by Thomas Holm, the man behind legendary covers for Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. Holm's work serves as a direct rejection of algorithm-generated art.
Pre-orders for "Hour Of The Wolf" are now live, spanning CD, digital, and three distinct vinyl pressings: red/yellow marbled, a red/black splatter (featuring a signed autograph card), and a blue marbled Scandinavia exclusive. The visual identity of the record is further bolstered by a music video directed by Cannes Film award winner Snovonne "Sno" Drake.
