Kamelot Unleash 'Godlike Alchemy' From 'Dark Asylum'

KAMELOT are back with another slice of theatrical metal, this time in the form of "Godlike Alchemy," the second single lifted from their forthcoming album *Dark Asylum*, due August 28 via Napalm Records. The track arrives hot on the heels of the previously released "Ashen World", which earned a place among Metal Hammer's best tracks of the week – a promising start for what promises to be an ambitious release.

"Godlike Alchemy" bursts forth with soaring string arrangements and frontman Tommy Karevik's powerful vocals, creating an atmosphere both grandiose and unsettling. The band effortlessly shift between brutal intensity and ornate melodies, showcasing their signature dynamic range while guitarist Thomas Youngblood delivers a blistering solo. It's KAMELOT firing on all cylinders, blending biblical imagery with an anthemic chorus.

*Dark Asylum* is set within a Neo Victorian world centred around RavenHill Asylum, an institution where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist. The album follows a soul trapped within this unsettling environment, searching for truth and redemption amidst fractured memories and psychological torment. Expect theatrical storytelling, haunting atmospheres, and deeply emotional themes as KAMELOT delve deeper into cinematic territory.

The album features appearances from Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie's Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis' Clémentine Delauney, and Ignacia Fernández, alongside the band's core lineup: Tommy Karevik (vocals), Thomas Youngblood (guitars), Oliver Palotai (keyboards), Sean Tibbetts (bass guitar) and Alex Landenburg (drums). Sascha Paeth returns to produce, with Jacob Hansen overseeing mixing and mastering.
