Godflesh Set to Conclude Legacy with 'Decay' and Relapse Records Partnership

GODFLESH mastermind Justin Broadrick has confirmed that 'Decay', the band's tenth and penultimate album, will serve as the final chapter of his industrial metal crusade. Scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, via Relapse Records, the upcoming record arrives after a thirty-eight-year career defined by visceral weight and sonic destruction.

Broadrick admitted that while he creates when 'appropriate' and 'as I feel', the band's looming conclusion is born of necessity. The new material was unearthed from the same extensive sessions as 2023's 'Purge'. Though some tracks were recorded whilst Broardick was battling a severe hernia caused by years of performing, he insists the records are fully complete and polished.

Since its inception, GODFLESH has been a cornerstone of heavy music, evolving from the seminal 'Streetcleaner' to the textured 'Post Self'. However, the physical toll of the work has now culminated in a definitive end point. Broardick noted that he intends to move toward 'new ground' with heavy and ugly music once the band becomes physically impossible for him to perform. With 'Decay' standing as the final testament, the project finally reaches the point where enough is enough.
