Moonspell Set to Headline Massive 2027 European Tour
Portuguese gothic metal veterans Moonspell announce a sprawling 2027 tour to celebrate 35 years of heavy music.
Portuguese dark metal icons Moonspell have announced their most ambitious European headline tour to date, beginning in March 2027. Titled the "God Is A Vampire Tour", the trek serves as both a celebration of the band's 35-year history and a grand tour for their latest critically acclaimed release, "Far From God".
The tour is set to be a massive undertaking, spanning the continent from the UK and Scandinavia through to Eastern Europe, including stops in Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, and Croatia. To match the scale of the journey, the band will debut a bespoke stage design featuring immersive video, powerful lighting, and a commanding soundscape intended to mirror the atmosphere of their latest offering.
We're bringing a new stage design, lights, sound and video production — and a hunger to make every night count.
Frontman Fernando Ribeiro described the creation of "Far From God" as a period of "creative searching, doubt and ultimate rediscovery" that ultimately led the band toward a more "unfiltered" sound. Ribeiro expressed that the upcoming tour represents a commitment to "make every night count," bringing a "dark, melodic, light-seeking energy" to the stage.
Supporting the Portuguese veterans are two specifically chosen guests: the Danish/Faroe Islands progressive force Iotunn and Spain's atmospheric doom outfit Todomal. Fans can secure tickets now via the official Moonspell website. The band's latest work, released in July 2026 via Napalm Records, has been hailed as a bold, unapologetic statement of gothic metal in its purest essence.
