Forbidden Debuts 'Burning The Lungs Of Earth' Ahead of Self-Titled LP

San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans FORBIDDEN have unveiled the music video for "Burning The Lungs Of Earth", the fourth single from their upcoming self-titled album. Set for release on October 23 via BLKIIBLK, the record marks a significant milestone for the band, serving as their first major output since 2010's "Omega Wave".

Guitarist Craig Locicero describes the new single as a "fast-paced thrasher" featuring complex riffs and soaring melodic vocals. The track serves as a grim commentary on environmental degradation, specifically targeting the "corporations, politicians and greed suffocating the planet." The visual component of the release was handled internally, with the video directed by drummer Chris Kontos and edited by Mike Sloat.

The song mirrors the effects of mankind's natural and unnatural disasters, coupled with the planetary cycle we find ourselves in.

Recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland with producer Zack Ohren, the full-length album is a sprawling, hour-plus masterpiece. The tracklist moves from the high-intensity "Single Point Failure" to the sprawling nine-minute closer "Flower Of Life". Locicero noted that the recording process felt like an "odyssey," aimed at capturing the raw energy and imperfections that define the heart of heavy metal.

Following the release, FORBIDDEN will hit the road for a series of headlining dates across the US from October 23 to November 22, with support from HEATHEN and VOID. This era finds the band with a revitalised lineup and a renewed sense of scope that looks to push the boundaries of their Bay Area heritage.
