Slayer Mark Reign In Blood Anniversary With Full Album Performance

California thrash metal legends Slayer marked the 40th anniversary of their seminal third album, Reign In Blood, by performing the record in its entirety during a headlining set at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, on Sunday, September 6. Fan-filmed footage of the milestone performance has since surfaced online, capturing the band revisiting the 1986 masterpiece that defined a generation of speed metal.

The 1986 release, produced by Rick Rubin, famously faced delays due to its graphic artwork and lyrical content before becoming a landmark in the genre. The band's formidable lineup—featuring Tom Araya, Gary Holt, Kerry King, and Paul Bostaph—has remained consistent since their last tour in 2019. The Rocklahoma appearance followed a preceding show in Minnesota supported by Down, Suicidal Tendencies, and Hatebreed.

Slayer took a massive step back into their legacy, performing the entirety of Reign In Blood in full.

While the 2025 tour cycle has seen the band across massive stages in the UK, Canada, and the US, the special tribute to Reign In Blood serves as a core pillar of their current live cycle. They are scheduled to continue their run through late 2025 with dates spanning Mexico, the United States, and South America, including major stops in Mexico City, Fort Worth, and São Paulo.
