Unearth Return to Metal Blade Records

Unearth have signed a new worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records, returning to the label that released several of the Massachusetts band’s most influential albums. The group is currently writing its next studio record, which is expected to arrive in 2027.

Unearth’s original Metal Blade period included “The Oncoming Storm”, “III: In The Eyes Of Fire” and “The March”. Vocalist Trevor Phipps says returning to the company feels like coming home, particularly because many of the people involved in the band’s early international growth remain connected to the label. Guitarist Peter Layman added that the current writing sessions are already well advanced.

The Massachusetts metalcore veterans describe the deal as a return to the label behind their defining 2000s records.

The band has also joined AISAmusic for management and Cobra Agency for European and Asian booking. Unearth plan to begin the new phase with a summer European run combining festivals and club shows, followed by further recording and touring activity.

Formed in 1998, Unearth helped define the American metalcore movement by combining hardcore structures with melodic death metal guitar work and thrash-influenced rhythms. Their career developed alongside Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Shadows Fall and Darkest Hour. The forthcoming album will follow 2023’s “The Wretched; The Ruinous”, released through Century Media, and will be the band’s first Metal Blade studio release since 2011’s “Darkness In The Light”.
