Slash has confirmed that Guns N' Roses will take 2027 off from the touring circuit to focus on the studio. Speaking on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", the iconic guitarist explained that while the band will finish their current run of shows in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand through December, the following year is intended for a different phase.

"We have so much material, and it's all over the place, and it needs to... [be worked on]", Slash explained. He noted that while he is happy to write individually while on the road, the collective effort required to polish and assemble their vast archive of material is nearly impossible to achieve while touring. The band's recent output, including the singles "Atlas" and "Nothin'", involved reworking older material from Axl Rose's archives, but Slash insists the next full-length album will consist of entirely new original material.

It's impossible for me and my Guns N' Roses bandmates to work on new music when they are touring.

Slash also touched upon the evolving landscape of the music industry, noting that while digital platforms offer various configurations, the goal remains to produce a cohesive album. The guitarist highlighted the contrast between the "old rehash" style of the recent singles and the upcoming project, which he describes as a necessary step to navigate the current era of rock and roll. After the 2027 hiatus, the band aims to present a polished package of new music to their global fanbase.
