Triumph's Rik Emmett Praises 'Unbelievably Great' First Leg of 'Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded' Tour

Triumph frontman and guitarist Rik Emmett has hailed the first leg of the 'Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded' tour as "unbelievably great" following the band's first run of shows in over three decades. Speaking to Meltdown of WRIF, Emmett admitted he was surprised by the quality of the performances, noting that while the physical grind of touring was demanding, the experience provided a profound sense of identity and purpose.

"The music kind of gives me back a sense of why I'm on the planet and why I'm here and who I am," Emmett said. He described the atmosphere as a "vortex of energy" and noted the overwhelming emotional response from fans who were often seen filming the set while in tears. The tour has seen a high-caliber lineup including original members Emmett and drummer/vocalist Gil Moore, joined by Phil X, Brent Fitz, and Todd Kerns.

I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. And I was surprised by it, and then I was just so energized and happy about it.

While original bassist Mike Levine was unable to perform due to a hand injury, Emmett noted that Levine remains active and was recently spotted in the studio. The band has now extended their run with 16 additional dates across the US, featuring special guest April Wine. Drummer Gil Moore confirmed the second leg will feature upgrades, including a "major laser infrastructure" and more pyro. The upcoming dates, which will hit the Midwest, Northeast, Southwest, and West Coast through December, will conclude with performances at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and Viejas Arena in San Diego.
