Rik Emmett Faces Hair Loss Ahead of Triumph's 2026 Tour
Triumph frontman Rik Emmett reveals he has lost his hair to alopecia areata ahead of the band's massive 2026 North American tour.
Triumph frontman Rik Emmett has revealed he is currently dealing with hair loss caused by alopecia areata ahead of the band's 2026 North American tour. Speaking to Rob Edwards of Talkin' Bout Rock, Emmett admitted that his hair began falling out following the first leg of the "Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded" tour. While he remains in good health and feels capable of performing, he joked that fans might see him wearing "a lot of hats" during the upcoming shows.
Despite previously calling the reunion a "non-starter," Emmett admitted he was gradually lured back into the fold by the band's growing profile, including appearances at the NHL playoffs and induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2025. The 2026 trek sees the band joined by Phil X, Todd Kerns, Brent Fitz, and Gil Moore. Original bassist Mike Levine is unable to join the tour due to a hand injury discovered in late 2025.
You may see me as a guy wearing a lot of hats.
To ensure his physical longevity, the second leg of the tour will feature a much more relaxed schedule than the previous run. The tour will traverse the Midwest, Northeast, Southwest, and West Coast before concluding with two dates in Ontario, Canada, in December. This follows a landmark year for the band, which included the release of a 15-track tribute album featuring icons like Slash and Sebastian Bach.
