Queens of the Stone Age Preview 'Perfecth' with 'Insignificant Other' Single

Queens of the Stone Age have confirmed their ninth studio outing, titled 'Perfecth', is slated for release on October 30 via Matador Records. Accompanying the announcement is the new single "Insignificant Other", a track Homme describes as a meditation on distance and the "strange vertigo" of someone vanishing from one's world. The track is one of only two takes, capturing the quintet in a loose, unguarded performance.

Produced by Joshua Homme and Michael Shuman, the album explores various facets of love, ranging from the familial to the fleeting. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the band aims to find beauty in the shattered, stitching together disparate emotions of lust, foolishness, and survival. Homme notes that the unconventional spelling of the title reflects his belief that the word "perfect" is fundamentally dishonest.

The record is called 'Perfecth' because 'perfect', as a word, has never been honest.

"Perfecth" will be available across several formats, including standard black vinyl and a clear vinyl option at indie retailers. A deluxe gatefold LP featuring handwritten lyrics and bespoke art will be available exclusively via the band's and Matador's webstores. The album was recorded in various locations, spanning from New Orleans to Los Angeles, to create a sonic landscape that Homme claims makes every song sound as if it hails from a different world.
