Oakland death metal trio Necrot have signed with Metal Blade Records. The agreement begins a new phase for a band that has spent 15 years developing its direct, underground approach without moving away from traditional death metal foundations.

Necrot say they view Metal Blade as an appropriate partner because of the label’s long history supporting extreme metal. The group has also confirmed that work is under way on the follow-up to 2024’s “Lifeless Birth”, although no title or release window has been announced.

The signing opens a new chapter as Necrot prepare a 30-date North American tour and their fourth album.

The band will mark the signing by joining the 2026 Decibel Magazine Tour. Necrot will appear alongside headliners Cryptopsy, Italian death metal band Fulci and death-grind group Blood Monolith for 30 dates across the United States and Canada. The run gives the trio a substantial platform before details of the next record are revealed.

Formed in 2011, Necrot consists of vocalist and bassist Luca Indrio, drummer Chad Gailey and guitarist Sonny Reinhardt. The musicians have previous connections to Bay Area groups including Acephalix, Vastum and Saviours. Necrot’s 2017 debut album “Blood Offerings” reached Billboard’s Hard Rock chart and established the band internationally. Subsequent touring with Cannibal Corpse, Carcass and Municipal Waste helped position the trio among the most visible acts in the current American death metal underground.
