Molly Hatchet Set to Return with Abbey Road Studios Opener
Molly Hatchet are preparing to drop 'Lost Horizon', their first studio album in 16 years, featuring a new single titled 'Once A Gambler'.
Molly Hatchet are gearing up for a major comeback, set to drop 'Lost Horizon' on 27 November via Steamhammer. The band marks their first studio outing in 16 years with the release, supported by the newly premiered single 'Once A Gambler'.
Guitarist Bobby Ingram has been busy weaving the band's Southern rock legacy into the fabric of the new record. The album represents the fruition of a lifelong dream, as all 12 tracks were recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. Ingram notes that the band utilised Studio 2, the exact location where The Beatles recorded 60 years ago, using the same microphones and the expertise of sound engineer Chris Bolster.
It was an incredibly emotional experience to cut the new MOLLY HATCHET album under such awesome conditions.
While long-standing members John Galvin and Tim Lindsey remain on board, the new era sees Ingram joined by younger recruits Garrett Ramsden on drums and Parker Lee on vocals. Ingram suggests that Lee evokes the spirit of original singer Danny Joe Brown, while Ramsden provides a fresh spark to the proceedings.
Following the August debut of 'Dixie Highway', 'Once A Gambler' offers a look into the high-stakes mentality of the band's philosophy. The full tracklist for 'Lost Horizon' features 12 titles, including 'Whiskey Desperado' and 'Moonshine All Mine', aiming to bridge the gap between their 2008 effort 'Justice' and the modern era.
