Kid Rock Sets October Release for Christian LP 'Halfway To Jesus'
Kid Rock announces his first Christian album and debuts the first single, featuring a guest appearance from Eminem.
Kid Rock is pivoting toward faith-based territory with the upcoming release of his new album, "Halfway To Jesus", scheduled to land on October 17. The project marks his first studio output since 2022's "Bad Reputation", which failed to make a lasting dent in the charts.
To lead the campaign, the video for "James 1:17 (Jesus Is King)" has been released. Filmed at his Nashville venue, the clip serves as a tribute to longtime keyboardist Jimmie Bones, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2024, and fan Kalvin Lynch. The full 17-track album features a collaboration with Eminem on "7 Sins" and a country-infused track, "Halfway 2 Jesus", featuring Jimmie Allen and Gary LeVox.
I'm proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem.
Rock addressed the inclusion of his longtime collaborator in a foreword, noting that despite political differences, their friendship remains intact. "His verse speaks to something we've talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we've stayed friends through it all," Rock stated, hoping the partnership serves as an example for others.
Speaking on his creative process, the US country-rocker explained his desire to blend his faith with rock, country, and hip-hop. Fans can already pick up tour-related merchandise via his official site, ranging from religious-themed apparel to a "stash box" designed to resemble a bible.
