Motley Crue guitarist John 5 has praised the recently concluded "The Return Of Carnival Of Sins" tour as a massive success, describing the atmosphere as a "heavy metal summer camp." Speaking on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk," the guitarist reflected on the 33-city trek which celebrated both the 20th anniversary of the 2005-2006 "Carnival Of Sins" run and the band's 45th anniversary. Supported by Extreme and Tesla, the tour was packed with high energy and camaraderie.

John 5 detailed a particularly "rock and roll" moment on the West Coast where, due to the lengthy drives, the band members opted to fly in separate private planes to the same destination. He also recounted a humorous moment during the final show when he and Tommy Lee and fellow musicians from Extreme shared a seemingly private conversation on stage while the crowd watched during "More Than Words."

It was like heavy metal summer camp. And the last day was, like, 'Oh, okay.' And because everybody had so much fun.

Since joining the band as Mick Mars' touring replacement in 2022, John 5 maintains a strict approach to the setlist. He insists on playing the material exactly as it was written and recorded to stay true to the fans, while also incorporating deep cuts like "Red Hot" and "Take Me To The Top" into their recent performances. Despite the logistical hurdles and personal health challenges faced by the band's members, John 5 insists that the primary goal remains delivering the songs correctly.
