Jack Osbourne Defends Ozzy’s Legacy Against Dee Snider Claims
Jack Osbourne shuts down claims regarding his father's songwriting, dismissing Dee Snider's criticisms as 'delusional'.
Jack Osbourne has set the record straight regarding his father's songwriting contributions, addressing recent jabs from Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider. In a sit-down with The HoneyDew With Ryan Sickler, Jack clarified that the legendary Prince of Darkness never pretended to be a solo auteur, choosing instead to acknowledge his specific strengths.
While Ozzy did write many of his own lyrics during his solo career, Jack confirmed that the bulk of the Black Sabbath catalogue was penned by Geezer Butler. He noted that his father was never afraid to admit where he needed help, contrasting him with modern acts who claim total creative ownership of their output. "He was, like, 'No. I know what I'm good at. I know what I'm not. I know when I need help, and I'll say it,'" Jack explained.
He never was one of these artists that pretended he wrote everything.
These comments follow a public spat between Kelly Osbourne and Dee Snider. The feud ignited when Snider claimed that Ozzy relied on others for lyrics, specifically mentioning the contributions of Geezer Butler, Bob Daisley, and Lemmy Kilmister. Kelly responded by calling Snider's attempt to diminish her father's achievements "spectacularly classless," mocking the Twist Sister singer's age while defending Ozzy's status as a master of his craft.
