Michael Weikath Dismisses 'Keeper IV' as Repetitive for Helloween

Helloween guitarist Michael Weikath has pushed back against the notion of continuing the legendary 'Keeper of the Seven Keys' saga with a fourth installment. Speaking to Brazil's Ibagenscast, Weikath dismissed the idea of a 'Keeper IV' as potentially repetitive and a poor move for the band's creative image.

While the band is currently looking ahead to follow up their 2025 release, 'Giants & Monsters', Weikath noted that a fourth 'Keeper' chapter would likely lead to accusations that the group had run out of ideas. He suggested that the 'Keeper' brand is already well-established and that continuing it would fail to showcase the originality of new material.

That would be very repetitive, and I can also imagine it wouldn't do much good on one part of the, of the critical fanhood.

Weikath clarified that while a 'Keeper IV' might have been a joke during a previous interview with vocalist Andi Deris, the band prefers to forge new paths. He noted that even 'Giants & Monsters' could technically be viewed as a successor in the lineage, but the band prefers distinct titles to maintain a fresh identity for every record.

Unless a massive fan poll demanded a return to the 'Keeper' naming convention, the band intends to stick with original titles. This approach ensures that each new track stands on its own merit without being tethered to the legacy of the 1980s classics.
