Greg Howe Sets 2027 European Tour to Debut 'Extraction' Live
Guitar virtuoso Greg Howe reunites with Dennis Chambers for the first live performances of the landmark 'Extraction' album.
Guitar virtuoso Greg Howe has announced a 2027 European tour that marks a significant milestone for his live performances. The tour will feature the first-ever live execution of the 2003 landmark instrumental fusion album "Extraction", a collaboration between Howe, Dennis Chambers, and Victor Wooten. While Wooten is unable to join due to prior commitments, his long-time friend Jon Reshard will step in on bass to tackle the demanding parts.
This particular touring unit introduces a fresh dimension to Howe's stage presence. For the first time in years, the tour includes a keyboardist, Marco Corcione. This addition is designed to provide greater harmonic depth and expand the improvisational possibilities of the live set. Reshard, who also featured on Howe's 2008 album "Sound Proof", brings a deep familiarity with Howe's specific musical language to the proceedings.
The tour marks the first time in many years that Greg Howe will tour and perform with a keyboardist.
Fans can expect a setlist heavily influenced by the "Extraction" repertoire, including staples like "Lucky Seven", "Bird's Eye View" and "Proto Cosmos". The show will also feature the title track and several other "Extraction" pieces that have never been performed live before. These will be bolstered by signature Howe pieces such as "Jump Start" and "Kick It All Over". With Corcione on keys and the formidable skills of Chambers and Reshard, the core compositions will be explored within a much broader, more harmonically complex framework.
