The Violent Hour Taps Into Digital Decay with New Single 'Screenager'

The Violent Hour has landed their latest offering, "Screenager", a heavy rock anthem that tackles the erosion of human connection in our hyper-connected digital age. Featuring the commanding vocals of Carla Harvey (formerly of the Butcher Babies) and the heavy-hitting pedigree of Charlie Benante (Anthrax, Pantera), the track blends crushing riffs with melodic hooks to warn against the trade-off of real-world empathy for online validation.

Harvey explains that the song aims to mirror the relentlessness of the "endless scroll," drawing musical inspiration from the early era of Metallica while leaning into massive melodic choruses. To add a final layer of intensity, the band enlisted Attila Vörös to provide a guitar solo that blends 80s shred with modern melodic metal.

Musically, 'Screenager' channels the aggression and energy of early Metallica but opens up into huge, soaring melodic choruses.

Following the release of their self-titled debut EP in July via Megaforce Records, the band is preparing to take their live set to the States. They are confirmed for a run of fall festivals, including Rocklahoma on 6 September, Louder Than Life on 17 September, and Aftershock on 1 October.
