E-FORCE frontman Eric Forrest has hailed his recent stint as the frontperson for VOIVOD as one of the finest touring experiences of his career. Forrest stepped in to fill the void left by frontman Denis "Snake" Bélanger, who was forced to sit out the European trek to attend to a family matter.

Despite having departed the Canadian legends nearly 25 years ago, Forrest was tapped by management and drummer Michel Langevin to step in on short notice. The former vocalist, who appeared on the albums "Negatron" and "Phobos", described the experience of performing on major festival stages and large venues as a significant privilege. "It was a real honour and privilege and surprise to be able to live this adventure again," Forrest told The Subversive Podcast, noting that the chemistry with long-time collaborators like Daniel Mongrain and Dominic Laroche remained intact.

It was an honour, man. I mean, everything was really, really on a professional level... It was one of the best tours I've ever done.

Speaking on his personal journey, Forrest also addressed his ongoing battle with prostate cancer, which he went public with in early 2026. While he opted for a metabolic treatment path rather than traditional surgery or chemotherapy, he insisted he would not have turned down the opportunity to rock out with VOIVOD regardless of his health status. Following the tour, Forrest is preparing for a string of shows with E-FORCE, where he continues to work on the upcoming "Voivod Revisited" project, featuring re-recordings of his former band's material.
