HAIL MIND

HAIL MIND is a compact record with a high density of ideas. End All move quickly between heavy rhythmic figures, electronic colour, vocal hooks and abrupt structural changes. The album’s best moments make those elements interact with clear cause and effect. Its weaker moments simply place them next to one another and call the resulting motion progress.

The album is strongest when its machinery serves a song rather than advertising itself.

The title track provides an efficient introduction. “Hail Mind” establishes the production language and the band’s preference for sharply segmented arrangements. “Brain Storm” develops that method more successfully, using changes in rhythmic emphasis to create escalation rather than merely increasing density. “Shake You Awake” is more hook-oriented and benefits from a clearer centre.

“Stone Gives Way To Black” is one of the album’s strongest constructions. Its transitions feel prepared, and the contrast between sections changes the track’s tension. “Blaze It Up” is more immediate but less durable. The energy is convincing; the formal development is limited. “Souledout” restores balance through tighter pacing.

“LFG - Let’s Fuckin’ Go” is deliberately direct. The feature adds another vocal texture, and the track works because it does not pretend to be more complicated than it is. The two-part “Pulse & Machine” sequence is more ambitious. Part I establishes a mechanical pattern, while Part II benefits from pushing that material toward a conclusion. The pair gives the album its clearest extended arc.

“Go Against The Grain” and “Breakin’ It Faster” close the record with renewed momentum. Both are effective, though their album-version designation also reflects the record’s broader tendency to keep polishing and reconfiguring material rather than always deepening it.

The production is precise, with enough separation for the rhythmic details to register. That clarity exposes both the band’s strengths and its redundancies. HAIL MIND is technically assured and frequently exciting. A stricter edit and greater patience inside individual sections would make the strongest ideas hit harder. Complexity is useful here, but only when it creates consequence.
