Amon Amarth Debut 'Eight Legs Of Thunder' Ahead of New Album

Swedish death metal stalwarts Amon Amarth have unveiled "Eight Legs Of Thunder", a galloping new anthem inspired by Sleipnir, the legendary eight-legged steed of Odin. Serving as the final preview before their upcoming album, "The Allfather Awakens", the track blends a heavy, sing-along chorus with a driving main riff that traverses the landscape of Norse mythology.

Accompanying the track is a cinematic music video directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz. Breaking away from traditional metal tropes, the visual takes the myth of Sleipnir into a gritty, modern American Western setting complete with cowboys and pickup trucks. Szermanowicz explains that the band wanted to create a "visual knockout" by fusing raw western aesthetics with epic, dark mythology.

"The Allfather Awakens" is set to drop on 2 October via Metal Blade Records. It marks the band's 13th studio album and features a collection of tales regarding conflict and sacrifice. For the production, the band worked with Jacob Hansen in Denmark, choosing to record each track individually to ensure every song functioned as a potential single. Sonically, the band has pivoted away from modern 5150 amps in favour of a classic Marshall sound to craft their distinctive, melodic power.
