Mara Vex is a fictional musician created for this demonstration interview. The format is designed for profiles, question-and-answer pieces and longer conversations without changing the visual system.

Vex describes recording as a search for accidents. The first take establishes the song; every take after that tries to find the point where control begins to fray.

The guitar sound supposedly began with a tiny practice amplifier driven far beyond anything its manufacturer intended. Larger cabinets were added for weight, but the splintered centre remained.

That balance between clarity and collapse defines the imaginary record. It is also a useful editorial principle: preserve the details that make the subject specific, then remove everything that feels generic.
